Kevan has worked over 35 years in the water industry working for the City of Toronto and the City of Peterborough; duties ranged from water quality chemist, WTP Operator, WTP Supervisor (Maintenance and Operations) and WTP Superintendent. He holds a diploma in Organic Chemistry as well as Class IV WT, Class II WD, Class I WWT, and Class I WWC. Kevan has participated in a variety of certificate programs and workshops on topics directly related to technological advancements in the drinking water industry. He has earned the OWWA’s Operator Meritorious Service Award in 2014. Kevan worked in a water quality laboratory for 4 WTP’s for the City of Toronto. Later operated all 4 WTP’s for City of Toronto. Before retirement (2016), he was Superintendent for the City of Peterborough’s WTP.
Kevan brings a good knowledge in chemistry relating to water, biofiltration, algae identification, and various water treatment technologies. He is presently a contract Trainer for WCWC and instructor for Fleming College (Advance Water Systems, Environmental Law, and Environmental Technology) and Durham College water systems. Kevan is also a member of AWWA and OWWA.
Janine has almost 30 years’ experience working in the water industry and holds a Water Treatment 4 and Water Distribution and Supply 3 certificate. After leaving Durham Region after 26 years where she was the Integrated Management System Coordinator and oversaw the implementation and maintenance of the ISO and DWQMS systems for the Works Department, she started providing training, auditing and compliance services to various clients in Ontario and British Columbia. She is a certified auditor for ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and DWQMS and performs both internal and external audits.
