Participants will learn the important role operators have in source water protection, the risks to source water and emerging issues challenging the quality of raw water sources in Ontario.
Effective treatment practices will be reviewed along with the minimum requirements outlined in the regulation for filtration and disinfection parameters.
Requirements for maintaining primary and secondary disinfection will be discussed, as well as best practices for mitigating lead and corrosion in the distribution system.
Effective monitoring will be discussed through best practices for meeting continuous monitoring and sampling requirements, and the regulatory requirements for recordkeeping.
This course also reviews the legal and ethical duties of operators, documentation to support compliance and what to expect during an MECP inspection.
