In 2017, Joan won the CIPHI Ontario Board Award of Merit to recognize the development and delivery of the SDWS program; working with provincial representative to refine programs as well as working with water treatment professionals/specialists to solve water quality/treatment issues. Joan is also an inspector for Part 8 – on-site sewage systems under the Ontario Building Code. Joan enjoys helping others improve their understanding of small systems whether it is interpreting the legislation or the assessment and reporting process.
