Operational Trainer required

Position: Operational Trainer (Salary Range $69,546 - $85,979)

 

Location: Walkerton Clean Water Centre, Walkerton, Ontario (A home office headquarters may be considered).

 

1 Full Time Position Available (1 year contract).

 

The position reports to the Manager, WCWC Training Institute.

 

Key Duties:

ü  Deliver operational training in accordance with adult learning principles in locations across Ontario, as arranged by WCWC Training Coordinators.

ü  Conduct course audits of other WCWC courses/trainers

ü  Collaborate with Training Coordinators on course development and continuous improvement of WCWC courses

ü  Perform other duties as requested by the Manager, WCWC Training Institute

   

WCWC has the provincial mandate for the provision of training for Ontario’s water operators/mechanics. Trainers must have a strong operations background with many years of experience and they must be self-starting, dynamic and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will be an outstanding communicator and capable of dealing with a diverse client base. Working as a part of a team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivery of drinking water operator training, including the Ministry of the Environment’s mandatory courses. The WCWC Training Institute is Ontario’s largest provider of water operator training. We have a commitment to both the highest quality and the best customer service. Our Trainers must be able to deliver on these high standards.

This position requires substantial ground/air travel and flexible work hours. Proof of a valid driver’s licence – minimum class “G” or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario, will be required upon acceptance of an offer of employment.

Knowledge and Education Requirements:

· A college diploma or university degree.

· Demonstrated ability to deliver technical training to operators, with consideration of the principles of adult education.

· Experience operating drinking water systems including proven knowledge of distribution systems.

· Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills and demonstrated customer-service orientation.

· Fluency in French and proven laboratory skills would be assets.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

 

To ensure that the WCWC continues to consistently deliver training of the highest quality, the Centre has implemented a formal quality assurance program. Both trainers/instructors and course content are considered in this commitment to quality. WCWC trainers/instructors are required to complete a Trainer Certification Program, which includes a 2-day course that the successful candidate must successfully complete.
