Job Posting: WCWC is seeking a qualified professional in the role of Administrative Curriculum Assistant



The Walkerton Clean Water Centre (WCWC) is seeking a qualified person to assist our Curriculum Development team by proofreading and editing training content and materials. This is a contract position for up to three months.

Position: Administrative Curriculum Assistant
Location: Walkerton, Ontario
Hours: 7.5 hour work day Monday to Friday
Salary: $24.92/hr
Assignment duration: To begin July 3, 2018 and ending September 28, 2018.

This position reports to the Manager of the Training Institute and works with the Curriculum Development Coordinator and operational instructors.

Key Technical Duties:
  • Assist in the creation, formatting and editing of PowerPoint slides and supporting training materials
  • Reviewing training manuals, materials and PowerPoint slides to improve the appearance of the materials for accuracy, consistency and legibility. Primarily makes non-substantive editorial changes to bring the training materials up to established professional standards.
  • Participate in meetings and various communications with Training Institute staff in support of establishing strategies for content development and revisions
  • Assist in the tracking and reporting of project deadlines
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Manager
Requirements for applicants:
  • Completion of a high school diploma program with preference for the completion of a Post-Secondary diploma with a focus in English, communications, graphic design, computers, business administration or related field. 
  • Demonstrated experience proofreading and editing documents
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; applicants invited for an interview will be required to complete a proficiency test utilizing several Microsoft Office platforms
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written
