The Walkerton Clean Water Centre (WCWC) is seeking a qualified professional to fill a full time permanent position of Information Technology (IT) Specialist.

Salary Range:  $65,401 – $94,239

Purpose of position
Provide information technology and computer system and processing support to staff on a regular and timely basis.  Improve information technology controls, and improve operational efficiencies of technical systems being used through the organization.

Duties/responsibilities
In this role, the incumbent:
Improve staff and customer utilization of the WCWC Website Database which includes the Customer Registration System (CRS). Develop CRS reports and train staff on the reporting features and functions.  Resolve minor problems and liaise with external CRS contractors and consultants.
Monitor server access, utilization, and security, ensuring back up features are functioning. Perform periodic back up tests as scheduled and document results.
Perform on-going various hardware and software repairs, maintenance, and software updates for all WCWC technologies. Procurement of replacement hardware or software with prepared supporting reports and analysis. 
Provide regular desktop systems support for in-house and offsite employees, board members, and contract trainers. Service requests may be outside of business hours, and at remote locations.
Administer mobile devices (cell phones; tablets) provided to staff and board members. Liaison communications and service requests to 3rd party mobile service provider.
Monitor and perform regular tests on all Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) systems connected throughout WCWC.
Assist in programming new or edited corporate web pages.  Identify deficiencies, potential improvements to the corporate website and electronic communications system. Post content on the Centre website when required.
Monitor Internet/network usage and security issues.  Develop and/or update Internet usage polices and protocol. Identify risks and improvement opportunities for accessibility and security.
Administer audio visual; phone system; and leased equipment (printing) usage and perform or schedule required repairs.
Provide guidance & assistance in development & maintenance of eLearning initiatives.
Document, develop and update as required various IT policies and procedures to enhance operations and control risk.
Produce reports and business cases as required.  May be required to present data to the CEO, management team, staff and Board of Directors.

Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the position Manager.

Job requirements:
A College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered. The incumbent must have a demonstrated ability to work independently and administer multiple task assignments.

A minimum of 4 years of working experience would be considered necessary to be able to perform this role. A broad range of computer skills including databases, project planning, software integration and deployment and website programming is required.
