 The Walkerton Clean Water Centre (WCWC) is seeking a qualified professional to backfill the role of Full Time Permanent Training Support Representative.  

WCWC Training Operations Department 

Position:  Training Support Representative

Job Classification: OAD 9-10

Salary Range:  $45,747 – 56,491.50

Purpose of position

This position assists with the coordination of mandatory and other director-approved training and events and provides a wide range of administrative support for the Training Operations Department.

Duties/responsibilities

In this role, the incumbent:

1.    Contributes to outreach initiatives and scheduling strategy

2.    Schedules courses, books trainers and venues

3.    Coordinates with trainers on availability for courses and prepares the Notice of Assignments and Service Level Agreements 

4.    Monitors course registrations and initiates targeted communications by phone and e-mail to ensure sufficient participant registrations

5.    Analyses course feasibility on a case by case basis

6.    Administers the College training program at the Centre.

7.    Organizes Request for Services or appropriate procurement for venues and catering

8.    Tracks and reviews venue feedback and participates in venue vetting

9.    Maintains course material and inventory

10.    Reports measurable as described in the quality assurance program

11.    Provides administrative support to the Training Institute as needed

12.    Database liaison

13.    Designated P-Card holder

14.    Attends conferences as a booth exhibitor representing WCWC

15.    Supports special events

Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of the department Manager.

Knowledge Requirements:

The incumbent will be proficient in operating a computer and using a variety of windows-based software. 

The incumbent requires a good understanding of government procurement directives.

Job requirements

The incumbent requires:

•    Minimum Grade 12 Diploma

•    Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team

•    Customer service experience for a minimum of 2 years

•    Good understanding of government procurement directives

•    Oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders 

•    Organizational, planning and time management skills to independently complete work within the appropriate timeframes and the ability to deliver on performance objectives

•    Ability to operate a computer using a variety of windows-based software

•    Equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
