Turbidity Meters

  • Measures the scattering of light from suspended particles in water
  • Online turbidity meters continuously monitor turbidity in water treatment plants

pH Meters

  • pH meters measure whether water is acidic, basic or neutral. Many treatment processes, including coagulation and ozonation, are affected by pH
  • Online pH meters are used to continuously monitor the pH in drinking water treatment plants

UV Meters

  • Measures the UV absorbance at 254 nm. UV light at 254 nm wavelength is absorbed by dissolved organic matter in the water, which can provide an indication of the concentration of dissolved organic carbon (DOC)
  • Online UV meters are used to continuously monitor UV absorbance in drinking water treatment plants

SCADA

  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) monitors and controls the operation of drinking water process equipment
  • Uses iFIX from GE-Fanuc Inc. software that is capable of collecting data from online analyzers to plot historical and real-time trends and controlling coagulant and chlorine dosages
  • Data acquired, such as turbidity, pH, headloss, flow rates, temperature, free chlorine, and total chlorine can be collected and stored over time

Particle Counters

  • Analyzers that can continuously count the number of particles and classify them in different size ranges
  • Allows comparison of different processes, can be used to detect filter breakthrough and evaluate protozoa removal by filtration

Streaming Current Monitor

  • Controls coagulant dosages depending on the charge of the particles in the raw water
  • This unit can be operated in automatic or manual mode and is used to optimize the coagulation process
